For us at Rörets, it is a matter of course to take our responsibility when it comes to the environment. We can proudly say that we do what we can when it comes to material selection, transport and production. Our Scope certification according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is one of several environmental certifications that we have and means that all our ironing board covers are made from 100% recycled cotton. It guarantees the same high quality as before, but with a significantly lower environmental impact. Below you can read a little about what GRS stands for and if you want to know more about our other certifications, you can find that information here.
Global Recycled Standard (GRS) – A Standard for Responsible Production
GRS is an international, voluntary standard that requires third-party certification of recycled materials, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions. The goal is to increase the use of recycled material and reduce the damage that can occur during its production.
The Global Recycled Standard is intended for use with all products that contain at least 20% recycled material. Every stage of production must be certified, from the recycling stage to the last seller in the final business-to-business transaction. Self-declaration, documentation and site visits are applied to places for collection and concentration of material.
We are convinced that every step counts towards a more sustainable future. By using recycled cotton in our ironing board covers, we are taking a big step towards reducing our impact on the environment and promoting responsible consumption.
Did you know that the production of 1 kilo of cotton requires…
- 1 kg of oil
- 10,000 L of water
…and produces emissions equivalent to 15 kg of greenhouse gases
